Emilino Grillo was firing on all cylinders Friday at the Mayakoba Classic. He shot an eight-under par 63 that got him to 13-under par and a four-shot lead heading into the weekend at El Camaleon.
Closest to Grillo at nine-under par are Tom Hoge (66-67) and Tony Finau (67-66).
Big news after two rounds was No. 12 Brooks Koepka missing the cut, which came at one-under par. A pair of 71s sent him packing and ended his frustrating 2020 season. He might have stuck around the final two days had he not missed a tap-in for par from inside two-feet at the par five fifth hole on Friday, his 14th hole of the day. He could do not better than a pair of even par 71s.
Rickie Fowler also missed the cut, following up with a one-over par effort of 72 that left him at even par with Koepka. Fowler was trying to stay inside the top 50 in the world rankings but may fall out when the new rankings come out this week.
Defending champion Brendon Todd was in at six-under, tied for eighth. Andy Ogletree is off to a nice start in his professional debut. With rounds of 69-67, he’s in that group at six-under with Todd.

Niemann can use second place money towards the cause.
Btw Justin Leonard said it best: ‘crime against humanity’ to charge $2 million to save a babies life.

Agreed, no medication or treatment should cost that much.
