This is the time of year when your bigger-name players on the PGA Tour can pick up some fat appearance fees on the European Tour.
Why else would Dustin Johnson travel all the way to Hong Kong to tee it up?
Alas, D.J. shot one-over par for the first two rounds of the Hong Kong Open, the cut came at even-par.
The 36-hole leader is Justin Rose, who didn’t exactly tear it up last week at the Frys.com. Rose has rounds of 65-66 in the books and is nine under. Right on his heels is Ian Poulter, who got into the event when Rich Beem gave his spot to Poulter.
In the meantime, D.J. can head off to ports unknown.
The only unanswered question: Does Johnson get a larger appearance fee if he brings his wife along?
