Sounds like, come hell or high water, the PGA Tour plans to resume the 2020 season on June 11 at The Colonial in Fort Worth.
The Tour has put out its revised schedule and PGA Tour Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations (aka The Sheriff’s Head Henchman), has been pretty emphatic about June 11. “We are very confident that we will be able to play that second week in June,” he said last week.
Okay, so the real devil is in the details and the Tour has created more questions than it has provided answers.
How about hotels? Will there be designated host hotels to house players and caddies and other support members of the “teams” of certain players? Nothing concrete on that yet.
Who’s going to feed everyone with restaurants everywhere closed?
How about Corona Virus testing? Will players, caddies and on-site Tour officials be tested before said June 11, first ball in the air date?
What about players currently outside the U.S.? There are 25 players and 35 caddies outside the United States who, right now, cannot get back in the States.
No fans? Right now they’re telling us the first four events will be played without fans. What about after the first four events?
No stands? Obviously there may be no stands or corporate boxes at the first four events.
How many people will it take to actually stage those events? Two-hundred, three-hundred? The Tour estimates that counting players, caddies and all operations, they’re estimating 750 people on site.
Travel? How safe will it be for players who have to use commercial airlines?
And finally, some food for thought from world’s No. 3 Brooks Koepka. Koepka says fans at events are sometimes key for locating wayward tee shots. “Every once in a while, we just hit some foul balls and the fans kind of help you find it,” Koepka said. “I mean, guys are going to lose balls because of that (no fans).”
No fans, lost tee shots? Good point, Brooks.

Again so many tough questions unanswered but yet the tour plans to restart mid June. How is that possible?
Commissioners are getting info from high places but does that really mean it’s good, unbiased info?
I wouldn’t bet my family’s health on it.
Btw img Junior Worlds, held in mid July, was canceled last Friday.

Baxter, more questions than answers — for sure.
