Jay Haas had a decision to make and Jim Furyk made it easy for him.
Furyk, still suffering from the effects of a bruised wrist, has been replaced on the Presidents Cup team by J.B. Holmes.
Haas made the announcement on Friday, he needed to as the competition between the U.S. and the International team gets underway next week in South Korea.
J.B. Holmes had a pretty good case for being on the team. After the 10 who were automatic qualifiers, Haas had two captain’s picks. He chose his son Bill with one. The younger Haas was 11th on the points list.
But instead of Holmes, Haas chose Phil Mickelson for the 12th spot.
Now Holmes is in and maybe he should have been there from the start.
