When the stars play in one of those big WGC events, the PGA Tour makes sure it has a place for AYOs — All You Others.
The Reno-Tahoe event, now called the Barracuda, doesn’t even have a scoring system that’s simple to figure. It uses the “modified stableford” that is an accumulation of points.
Regardless, J.J. Henry re-booted his career Sunday with an eagle on the second playoff hole to beat Kyle Riefers for the title.
Henry had a chance to win outright but missed a 12-footer for eagle at 18 in regulation play. He and Riefers were tied with 47 points. On their second go-round at 18, Henry rolled in a 14-footer from just off the green then watched as Riefers missed his eagle try from 12 feet.
It was Henry’s third PGA Tour win and he needed it. His last win was at this same event in 2012.
There was good news for Patrick Rodgers. The Stanford whiz-kid who is trying to play his way onto the tour, finished solo third and is looking good for that playing promotion, the same way Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth earned their way on the big stage.

Would like to have known how much J.J. earned for his victory. Couldn’t find it anywhere.
