Jarrod Lyle’s determination to play on the PGA Tour has been second to none.
His ability to press on in the face of a deadly disease has been extraordinary.
This week, Lyle was named the recipient for 2015 of the PGA Tour’s Courage Award.
The Australian golfer was first diagnosed with myeloid leukemia at the age of 17. He spent nine months in bed during chemotheraphy treatments.
In 2012, his fifth year on tour, he was diagnosed again with the deadly disease. He kept on fighting.
He played the 2015 season with a medical extension and will start 2016 the same with eight events remaining on it.
This is a season to be thankful and it is a wonderful story, this long battle Lyle has waged without complaint, never seeking any sympathy.
All he wants to do is play golf.
