The only question, the big question coming out of the Insperity Friday was obvious:
“What did John Daly shoot?”
Daly, making his debut on the Champions Tour, acquitted himself well with a two-under par 70 at the Woodlands.
No one cared that Mike Goodes led with 66 or that Stephen Ames shot 67.
Friday was all about Daly.
“It was like starting all over,” Daly said. “It was good going out with those nerves,” he added, admitting that he was a bit nervous on the first tee.
In all, it was a steady day — four birdies, two bogeys, no blowups, no 10s or 12s.
John Daly is in contention, four off the lead with 36 to go.
