It wasn’t exactly Billie Joe Maccallister jumping off the Tallahatchie Bridge.
For a radio talk show host, it’s a no-brainer to have John Daly come on your show and know you’re going to get something really good out of the cigarette-puffing mouth of J.D.
Seems Dan LeBatard got ole J.D. on his airwaves recently and Daly confirmed what we already know — he’s pissed away mega-millions of dollars via his gambling habit. Over the years, mainly from 1991 to 2007 when Daly actually HAD some big money, Big John estimates he blew in the neighborhood of $55 million or so, give or take a few mil.
Sad as it all is, Daly found a pretty creative way to get rid of about $50-55,000 on day on the way back from hitting it pretty big at a casino.
Daly related to Lebatard on his popular ESPN show, how then wife Sherrie was all over him about his gambling antics. Well, Daly, in all his infinite wisdom, took the money and threw it off the Memphis-Arkansas bridge.
