Jordan Spieth finally pulled the golf clubs out of the garage, hopped on his private jet and headed to the land Down-Under.
Spieth has been a staple at the Aussie Open, he’s won the title two of the past three years and he’s in contention again at the Royal Sydney Golf Club.
Spieth shot a three-under par 69 on the other side of the world and is just two shots out of the lead.
Little-known Aussie Herbert Lucas and decorated Aussie amateur Curtis Luck shared the first round lead with 67s.
The man expected to provide Spieth with the most competition — Aussie Adam Scott — stumbled around over the first 18 holes and finished with a 73.
