Justin Leonard is coming to grips with the inevitable.
It happens to the best and the 1997 Open champion may be looking at his final season on the PGA Tour.
If you caught any of the Hero World Challenge, you noticed Leonard in the Golf Channel broadcast.
That was your hint.
Leonard finished last season 183rd on the FedEx Cup points list. He will play this season using his one-time exemption as a member of the top 50 money list. But the big change will be that you may see him on 10 or more NBC/Golf Channel broadcasts.
He’s 43 now and not getting any better and the 12 events he plans to play this coming season are not going to get him exempt if his current form prevails.
It’s hard to believe he’s well into his 40s, but time marches on.
It waits for no one but for Leonard, a television career is apparently waiting.
