The compressed schedule from 2016 has already taken a toll on a big name player.
Justin Rose, the Olympic Gold Medalist, will take off eight weeks to rest his ailing back.
“Following an intense summer schedule and discussions with my team, I have decided to take the next eight weeks off for rest and recovery,” Rose said this week.
The Open Championship, PGA, Olympics and Ryder Cup ran very close together this year and Rose’s back has been bothering since he found out at the Players Championship that he was suffering from a herniated disc in his back.
The European Tour’s finale starts the week of Nov. 3 with the Turkish Airlines Open, followed by the Nedbank Challenge and wrapping up with the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
