Justin Rose hasn’t been seen since the Players Championship.
He missed the European Tour’s flagship event — the BMW PGA at Wentworth.
Now he will miss the event he won in 2010 — this week’s Memorial at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village Club outside Columbus.
What’s bothering Rose is an old back problem that has flared up from time-to-time. “I battled the onset of back pain all week at The Players,” Rose said when he announced that he would not be at Wentworth last week.
He’s focusing on rehab. Rose has a good record at the Memorial, along with his victory in 2010, he finished runnerup last year to David Lingmerth.
Rose is hoping to be back for the U.S. Open. He won the 2013 title at Merion and has the game to contend at Oakmont.
