The LPGA has all sorts of awards and it’s getting to be that time of the year.
With the completion of the season’s last major — The Evian — the tour has named Lydia Ko as the best performer in the majors this year.
It was close, very close as Ko edged Ariya Jutanugarn for the Annika Major Award.
Ko racked up 102 points. She won the ANA Inspiration, finished second at the women’s PGA, third at the U.S. Open, T40 at the British and T43 at the Evian.
Jutanugarn was fourth at the ANA, third at the PGA, T17 at the U.S. Open, won the British Open and went T9 at the Evian. She accumulated 96 points. Had she finished fifth at the Evian, she would have edged Ko out for the award.
