Stacy Lewis hasn’t had a victory on the LPGA Tour since 2014.
On Sunday, she’ll have a chance to end her drought.
Lewis, a two-time Player Of The Year, shot a 10-under par 63 on Saturday and tied Lexi Thompson for the 54-hole lead at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic.
“That was probably the best round I think I’ve ever shot on tour in relations to par. So just a cool day,” said Lewis, who stands at 23-under par with overnight leader Lexi Thompson, who finished with 66 for her third trip around the Ocean Course.
The two U.S. women led a continued American scoring onslaught in the season’s first event.
Gerina Piller, looking for her first win on tour, will have another good chance over the final 18. She’ll start the final round just a shot behind the leades after an eight-under par effort of 65.
First round leader Brittany Lincicome’s 69 left her in solo fourth at 21-under par.
American rookie Nelly Korda, sister of Jessica, equaled Lewis 63 and jumped up to 15-under with a chance to post her best-ever finish.
