Lexi Thompson is one of the upcoming American stars of women’s golf.
She’s won five LPGA events, her fifth came last week in Grand Rapids at the Meijer LPGA Classic. And she won despite a heavily taped right wrist.
What Lexi needs to do is take a quick look at the physical tribulations of Michelle Wie and figure out that she needs to put a little less stress on her body.
She might want to give some thought to dropping the activity that caused the damage to that right wrist of hers.
Fact is, Lexi has been channeling her inner Rocky Balboa. She’s punching things and sometimes people.
The damage to her right wrist came as a result of a session when she was shooting her revealing Golf Digest cover. A writer donned some protective gear and told her she could start punching him. She obliged.
As a result, she suffered a bone bruise in her wrist area.
What Lexi needs to understand is that she should leave all this punching stuff to young women like Ronda Rousey, who make a living punching, kicking and arm-barring other gals for a living.
Lexi, YOU ARE A GOLFER!
Golfers don’t punch things.
So forget Rocky Balboa in the meat locker pounding a side of beer. Keep launching those drives with your 107 mile-per-hour swing speed.
Put those boxing gloves away. Better yet, send them to Ronda Rousey.

I DON’T see how punching beer could hurt you?
