Let’s see, you shoot 65-64 over the weekend, finished T2 then promptly fire your caddie.
Nice.
Yeah, that’s what Lydia Ko did at the Lotte Championship. She finished three behind winner Cristie Kerr, so it must have been the caddie’s fault.
Gary Matthews was on Ko’s bag for nine events. No more.
He’s gone so now she’s looking again and the question is: do you really want to be the next guy on that bag?
Ko’s fired everyone from swing coaches to equipment makers. Now it’s another caddie.
We ask the question: Is Lydia Ko a spoiled brat? If not, she’s certainly doing her best to act like one.
A caddie on the LPGA Tour isn’t that great of a gig to begin with. The money sucks, the travel is long and expensive, the venues certainly aren’t what you get on the PGA Tour. Not a great life at all.
Not sure there’s a host of loopers lining up for a shot at this Ko gig.
At best, let the Looper Beware!!

Hi Tom,
Whew what a tough young lady she is indeed. I do think the loopers will be lining up for a shot at her bag because they all think they are the best out there and can help he regain her form–they have huge egos–we both know that from our time on tour!
I wanted to tell you how Luke Donald demonstrated how the entire gig on tour is short game–he was awful tee to green and yet came in solo second at one of the toughest driving courses on tour–this completely proves the short game putting of course included is at least 90% of the equation. amazing stats–they said he was the worst of all the guys making the cut in proximity to the middle of the fairway., and yet he beat them all score wise except for one!

Ko may not be worth the hassle, they will have to “recruit” someone and that’s just for a “tryout”…..nothing guaranteed. No one wants to leave a decent player under those circumstances. Yes, Harbour Town is a nice venue, I caddied in that tournament for Gary Hallberg back in 1982, better have some short game at that track, for sure! Thanks for checking in, Bob!
