Martin Kaymer has never won a regular PGA Tour event, so to speak.
He’s got three wins and they’re all biggies — U.S. Open, the PGA and The Players.
The German star will have a shot at a “regular” event on Sunday when he takes a two-shot lead into the final 18 at The Memorial.
Kaymer shot 66 on moving day at Muirfield Village. He’s 15-under and two clear of former Masters champion Adam Scott, who matched Kaymer’s 66 and is along at 13-under par.
Hideki Matsuyama shot the day’s best round, an eight-under 64 and is at 11-under along with Jordan Spieth (69) and Patrick Cantlay (68).
Tiger Woods got it going early. He was four-under for his first nine holes then promptly took a double-bogey six at the 10th. He went on to shoot a two-under par 70 and is four-under, 11 behind Kaymer and tied for 25th.
