The LPGA Match play is down to the final four survivors in Mexico City and American Michelle Wie is one of them.
Wie went two extra holes in the round of eight to beat fellow American Angel Yin with a birdie on the 20th hole of their match.
Wie advanced to the semis and will now face a formidable challenge in Ariya Jutanugarn, the world’s third-ranked woman player.
Jutanugarn made it into the semis with a nervous extra-hole win over Cristie Kerr. With the match all square through 18, Jutanugarn’s par on the 19th hole earned her the victory.
In the other semifinal match, M.J. Hur takes on Sei Young Kim. Hur has played some strong golf and was the one who sent world’s No. 1 Lydia Ko packing in the third round.
