Our Christmas Wish List: For The Naughty And The Nice In The World Of Golf

It’s that most wonderful time of the year — for those of us who have experienced a LOT of Christmases, we’ve learned through the years that it is in the giving that we receive the most.

With Christmas Eve on the horizon, Santa has his sled nearly loaded and ready to go.

In the spirit of the 2022 Christmas season, we’ve put together a “gift list” for some prominent names in the world of golf.

So let’s get right to it!

For Rory McIlroy:  A Green Jacket.

For Will Zalatoris:  A healthy back and finally — a major championship.

For Scottie Scheffler:  Another year like the one he just completed.

For Jon Rahm:  A good night’s sleep (now that he has not one but TWO young children).

For Justin Thomas:  A third major championship.

For Tiger Woods:  The ability to simply walk 72 holes without limping — Tiger knows what to do once that’s accomplished.

For Cameron Young:  A PGA Tour win, or two, while we’re at it.

For Patrick Cantlay:  In the hunt on Sunday at a major.

For Xander Schauffele:  See “Patrick Cantlay.”

For Tony Finau:  See  “Patrick Cantlay.”

For Matt Fitzpatrick:  More respect in his home country.

For Jay Monahan:  Crown Prince MBS waking up on the wrong side of the bed and deciding to pull the plug on LIV funding.

For Greg Norman:  See “Jay Monahan.”

For LIV Defectors (Mickelson, D.J., Brooks, Reed, DeChambeau):  An 80 percent tax bracket.

For LIV Defector Cam Smith:  A Marine Corps buzz-cut.

For Lydia Ko:  See “Scottie Scheffler.”

For Nellie Korda:  Another major championship.

For Lexi Thompson:  A copy of the Dave Pelz Short Game Bible, a week with Brad Faxon (putting guru) and a month at the Dave Pelz Short Game School.

For LIV Lawsuits:  A slow, painful death in U.S. courts.

For Brandel Chamblee and The Golf Channel:  The judge awarding Patrick Reed 25 cents in “damages.”

For Tom Kim:  Not one, but two wins in 2023.

For Max Homa: See “Patrick Cantlay.”

For The LPGA Tour:  More elevated purses at their majors.

For Fred Ridley:  All LIVers in the 2023 Masters missing the 36-hole cut.

For the DP World Tour:  Court victory in February.

For the PGA Tour Champions players:  No injuries getting out of bed.

Just got the word from Santa, we’ve hit our limit.  No worries, that’s a pretty good list.

So let there be joy around the world and peace to all of good will.
