The PGA Tour is already prepared to crank up its season without any butts in the seats or fans lining the fairways.
The PGA Of America is considering the same.
Seth Waugh, CEO of the PGA Of America said this week that there are three options on the table for the PGA Championship, which is currently scheduled to be played at Harding Park in San Francisco, Augusts 6-9.
First, and most hopeful is that the tournament will be played in a normal setting, with spectators on site.
Second option is to stage the event at Harding Park without any spectators on site.
The third is the most drastic and depends on the Governor of California. That option has the tournament moved elsewhere if the State of California doesn’t allow the event to be staged.
Waugh didn’t mention a fourth option — total cancellation.
So for now, there are three 2020 majors scheduled — with the PGA up first.
All eyes will be on California as the summer months lie ahead.

The third option seems very realistic for the pga as Cali —thankfully— is not messing around with this issue.
The pga May very well Need to move their event to one of those states more concerned with the economy over their citizens health.
As a golf fan I want to watch big time golf. But it’s just a want.
Wants are nice but they are not Needs. Right now we ALL need to sacrifice for the greater good.
With Cali getting this simple concept of wants versus needs, the pga May very well need to look elsewhere; unless things turn around drastically Of course; but now we’re getting into hope.

PGA will depend on what Governor of California says….simple as that.
