The PGA of America fired The Donald on Tuesday.
They didn’t actually fire Donald Trump but the PGA of America, the organization that puts on the Ryder Cup, the PGA Championship and the little post-season get-together called the Grand Slam of Golf, decided not to stage the two-day Grand Slam exhibition at the Trump National Los Angeles.
The event brings together the winners of the majors on Oct. 20-21 and basically it would be Jordan Spieth playing by himself right now.
The PGA came up with the standard “parties mutually agreed that it is not in the best interest of all” to have the event at Trump’s course.
The decision is part of the on-going fallout from Trump’s opinion on immigration in general and Mexican immigrants in particular.
What remains to be seen is if the PGA Tour will still play the Cadillac WGC event at Doral next season, another golf complex owned by Trump.
