The PGA Tour didn’t waste any time with the decision.
The Greenbrier Classic scheduled for July 7-10 has been canceled after floods ravaged most of the state of West Virginia.
A state of emergency was declared in 44 of the state’s 54 counties and Greenbrier County was hit especially hard.
Waters three feet deep and tons of mud ravaged the Greenbrier Resort.
“Our focus needs to be on helpling all the people of our great state,” said Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier. “So many have lost loves ones and their homes and have no place to go.”
This was only the third time that a PGA Tour event has been canceled.
