With hurricane Matthew bearing down on the east coast, the PGA Tour wisely cancelled the Web.com Tour Championship that was scheduled for this weekend in Jacksonville.
As a result, the money list is finalized and 25 more players earned tour cards in addition to the 25 who earned their cards at season’s end by finishing in the top 25 on the tour’s money list.
Bryson DeChambeau was among those earning cards in the championship series along with England’s up-and-coming Andrew “Beef” Johnston. Michael Thompson led the series money list. Lucky No. 25 was Tim Wilkinson while poor Rob Oppenheimer was No. 26, he missed out by $392.
Some familiar names and former PGA Tour winners who lost their cards include: Camilo Villegas, Erik Compton, Stuart Appleby, Tim Herron and Jonathan Byrd.
