The PGA Tour is returning, so is the Korn Ferry Tour — but what about those up-and-coming hopefuls on the developmental tours?
As of now, they have no place to play.
The Mackenzie Tour cancelled its entire season last week. The PGA Tour LatinoAmerica got in one event before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down all sports. Same for the PGA Tour China.
Situations in Latin America aren’t that great right now, no restart in sight there.
Same for China.
The PGA Tour said it will continue to “monitor” those areas.
In the meantime, The Sheriff Of Nottingham (aka tour commish Jay Monahan) has called on his Creative Henchmen in Ponte Vedra Beach to come up with a plan.
Right now the Tour is trying to figure out if it can stage an alternative tour here in the United States for players who would normally be competing on those respective developmental tours.
Once again, a mole up at PGA Tour Headquarters leaked the plan to The Golf Channel.
Proposed plan would call for a half-dozen 54-hole events with a 36-hole cut. Dates would run from August to mid-October. They would try and play two or three straight events in the same region. Priority entries would go to guys from those three developmental tours. In other words — don’t think about it Vijay!
The Tour hopes to find sponsors willing to put up $100,000 for each event.
Potential regions include North Florida, South Florida, the Carolinas/Georgia, Northeast Texas and Arizona.
The Tour is trying to gauge interest from players. Should be no problem, right now those guys have nowhere to play.
So yes, you’d think that would be an easy survey.
Stay tuned on this one.
Extra Work/Duties For PGA Tour Caddies At Charles Schwab:
This time next week they’ll be playing the second round of the Charles Schwab Championship at Colonial Country Club.
The tour caddies will have some extra duties at Hogan’s Alley.
Caddies will be required to clean rake handles (with sanitizer) after raking bunkers. They’ll also be required to wipe down the flagsticks when they replace them in the cups (more sanitizing wipes?) and they’re also asking them to wipe down their players’ golf bags, again, with sanitizing wipes?
Given the shortage in retail stores of those sanitary wipes, perhaps the PGA Tour will have a few thousand sent over to the course.

And charge players and caddies by the wipe …
Good one on Vijay. But again, I argue Singh would be a great addition to any pro event.
I would give my Nassau money to any great tour pro; especially multiple major champs like VJ.
