The votes are in.
As if we had to guess on this one — Dustin Johnson is the PGA Tour’s Player Of The Year.
This one is voted on by the players and it was D.J. all the way. It was his second POY award, he had already won the award from the PGA Of America.
“I did not,” said D.J. when asked if he voted for himself. In fact, Johnson didn’t vote at all.
Most everyone else did and it wasn’t close. Johnson picked up his first career major last summer when he captured the U.S. Open at Oakmont. He had a total of three wins and an insane 11 top fives out of 22 starts.
Player Of The Year receives the Jack Nicklaus Trophy and that will go to Johnson when the tour hosts its presentations.
In the meantime, D.J. will make his season debut the week of Oct. 27 at the WGC HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.
The only other player with three wins last season was Jason Day.
