Gordon Gekko, the lead character from the movie Wall Street, who famously declared in the film that “Greed Is Good!” would absolutely love the PGA Tour.
The Tour, in its never-ending quest to fatten it’s already over-blown coffers, has teamed with NBC Sports to fleece more money out of golf fans.
Seems Jay Monahan’s henchmen have announced a scheme called PGA Tour Live, a money-hogging direct-to-consumer subscription video service that will live stream extensive Featured Groups coverage among other tidbits to those who want to pay up to see it.
So what’s this wonderful live-streaming stuff gonna cost?
Just in time for Christmas, it can be had at the early-bird price of $49.99 and that’s good through January 20.
But wait, that’s not all. A monthly pass can be purchased for $9.99.
After January 20th, the Tour gets greedier and that season pass will cost $64.99.
So there you go.
The organization that brings in Billions on an annual basis, is looking for more of your money.
Apparently when it comes to the PGA Tour — as Gordon Gekko said:
Greed is good.
