Bad drives often come as a result of the ball in the wrong position at setup.
Today, we have a really quick and simple method to find the proper position for the golf ball when you set up to his your driver.
First: put your feet together and flare both of your feet out, slightly, not too much.
Second: put the ball directly in the middle of your feet.
Now comes the important part.
Drop your back leg straight back, far enough where you’re comfortable enough so that you can turn into the inside of your back foot on your backswing.
Most common fault at setup is that too many players tend to get the ball too far forward in their stance and this can cause all sorts of problems off the tee.
Keep in mind what the late Ken Venturi once said:
“Bad swings don’t cause bad shots, bad angles cause bad shots.”
So does improper ball position.
So next time you’re at the range, try this simple exercise to find the proper ball position.
