Most important part of scoring in golf? Some will argue for various parts but when the rubber-meets-the-road at any level of competition — it all boils down to the putter.
A wise old pro once made this observation when Ben Hogan irons carried the phrase “Equalizer” on the wedge: “Mr. Hogan named the wrong club ‘Equalizer.'”
Truth be known, it is the putter that can take you to the next level of scoring, no matter what your handicap.
Today, Larry Rinker, PGA Tour veteran member and short-game expert, gives us some great information about putting and how to become a better putter.
Larry stresses the importance of learning to putt “intuitively” and “instinctively.”
Today, many of the good putters on Tour are using what’s referred to as the “pop stroke.” It’s even the name Tiger Woods chose for his newly-launched chain of putting courses with restaurant components.
Larry will also discuss the difference between a “linear putter” or “non-linear” putter. He also shows the importance of understanding how you move the putter.
So sit back and soak up this great lesson/discussion of perhaps the game’s most important component — putting.
