The PGA Tour is battling Mother Nature in New Orleans and losing the battle.
Once again heavy rains hit the TPC Louisiana on Sunday and not much golf was played.
Brian Stuard and Jhonny Vegas are the co-leaders at 13-under par. Both got in five holes, Stuard was one-under, Vegas, two-under.
The star of the soggy day was sponsor-invitee Bobby Wyatt. The former Alabama golfer with no status on the PGA Tour, shot a six-under par 30 on the front nine and got to 12-under after nine holes.
Meanwhile, Jason Day was three-under through his first eight holes and at 10-under pulled within three of the leaders.
Here’s how things shake out for Monday.
First, once again, the weather report isn’t that good. A total of 41 players need to finish the third round in order for this to be an official tournament. If 41 finish on Monday, the rest would go to Tuesday to finish. If 41 players do not finish on Monday, the tournament could carry to Tuesday. If not, it would be called after 36 holes and would not be an official event. Brian Stuard would be declared the winner but the win comes without the normal perks of an official win.
Meanwhile, they are keeping an eye on the radar going into Monday.
