Kerry Moher has spent most of his life playing golf — the game we all love.
The father of four wanted to introduce his children to the game and when he observed the First Tee Program in the Triangle area of North Carolina, he saw something that really registered with him — virtually none of the kids at that chapter of the First Tee had golf gloves.
It’s not uncommon, we’ve noticed it as well here in the Tampa area.
So Kerry decided to do something about that. He is the founder of Red Rooster Golf — a glove company that also has a great mission in mind. It’s a start-up company and Kerry’s in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign. He wants to donate a glove to the First Tee for every glove he sells to adult golfers. His initial goal is 5,000 youth-size gloves meaning he has his work cut out for him.
He should do well because Red Rooster is a quality, cabretta leather glove.
We took one out last week and it performed quite well. Feels great, has excellent contact with the grip on the club. It’s easy to get on and off if you’re one of those old-school players who like to remove the glove for short-game work around the green and putts.
We also love the cool logo — the Red Rooster — and it has the nice catch-phrase — Wake Up Your Game!
In the world of premium gloves, this one fits in quite well. Red Rooster is a direct-to-consumer company and sells for $23 a glove with free shipping. And it has that great mission to go with it — buy a glove and help a First Tee player as well.
