Emiliano Grillo has been a nervous wreck the past 24 hours in Rio.
He arrived in Rio early Monday. His golf clubs did not.
A professional golfer without his clubs is a fish with no water. It’s a basketball team with no ball, a football team with no football, a tennis player without a racquet.
Grillo was suffering, he was despondent, nervous, stressed. He kept calling the airline, over and over, tweeting, do everything he could but still he felt helpless.
Finally, finally after all the waiting, his clubs arrived in Rio Monday night.
“I’m never letting you go again…..until the next flight,” he said on his Twitter account.
Florida-based company ShipSticks took full advantage of the situation and sent this tweet to Grillo:
“There is another option….we can watch over them for you and help get your sticks to where they need to go.”
Perhaps Grillo should consider using that service next time.
He’ll be teeing off Thursday with the rest of the Olympic hopefuls after a happing ending to a stressful four days.
