There will be no hightops at Augusta National.
The cool thing about being a high-profile golfer is that you don’t have to worry about picking out your own clothes for each round of the majors.
Rickie Fowler is the standard-bearer for Puma and the fashion folks there have already released the ensembles that Fowler will wear for each round at The Masters next week.
He’ll start out with lime green for Thursday and Sunday he’ll wear his tradition orange, his college color from his Oklahoma State days. In between, there will be two variations of blue.
The shoes will all be traditional low-cut Pumas.
No high-tops.
It all goes to the respect and decorum at Augusta National, where there are no “fans,” they are “patrons.”
There will be no one screaming “Baba-Louie” or “mashed potatoes” so they can be heard on television.
And that’s a good thing.
