Okay, if his “incident” in Hawaii wasn’t enough, Robert Allenby’s latest behavior at the Canadian Open perhaps is further evidence that the Aussie golfer is teetering on the ledge, ready to fall into the deep end of bad behavior.
You might recall Allenby’s kidnapping story back at the beginning of the PGA Tour season in Hawaii.
If you read between the lines, Allenby was probably manufacturing some wild tale rather than admit to his wife that he got really, really drunk at a local strip club.
The latest in the Bizzaro World of Robert Allenby came Thursday during the first round of the Canadian Open when he got into a screaming match with his caddie. The fellas at Scoregolf.com were there to take in the festivities between Robert and his former bag-man Mick Middlemo.
Seems a difference of opinion over club selection resulted in Allenby hitting a shot into a creek and the resulting triple-bogey turned into the berserko screaming contest between the two. As a result, Allenby canned his caddie and pulled a guy out of the gallery to finish the day.
Allenby shot 81 and withdrew.
Next move for Allenby?
How about a visit to his local shrink back home?
