Rory McIlroy had arguably the best finish of any player last year.
He won the Deutsche Bank Championship then a win in the Tour Championship wrapped up the FedEx Cup for the young star from Northern Ireland.
In the offseason, McIlroy dabbled with a TaylorMade M2 driver now that Nike has exited the club business.
Apparently the driver sweepstakes may go to Callaway.
McIlroy will make his first start of the 2017 season on the European Tour at the BMW South African Open on Jan. 12 and he’ll have a Callaway GBB Sub Zero driver in his bag along with the Callaway Apex MB irons. His wedges will be different. He’ll try out the Vokey wedges by Titleist and will play the Pro-V1x golf ball.
McIlroy played with the TaylorMade M2 driver at the HSBC Champions late last year.
Although he’ll be playing the equipment, he hasn’t signed any contracts with Callaway yet.
Don’t look for any clothing changes, however. McIlroy will still don the Swoosh thanks to his lucrative Nike contract for clothes and shoes.
