It’s official.
Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll both said “I do” on Saturday at Ashford Castle.
Billed as the “Wedding Of The Decade” it’s hard to argue with that.
Stoll’s favorite performer is superstar Stevie Wonder. So Rory’s people called Stevie’s people, the humongous check was cut and Stevie performed at the reception.
So did UK sensation Ed Sheeran.
A lot of the European Ryder Cup team attended, including the future Mr. and Mrs. Sergio Garcia.
Security at Ashford Castle was “visiting heads of state” tight.
The paparazzi was kept at bay and no one does paparazzi like the Europeans.
How’s this for security — McIlroy hired an anti-drone company to eliminate any photo drones flying over the 350 acres at Ashford Castle.
The celebration itself was a solid three-day event that started Friday with some stragglers not getting out of there until Monday.
It was that good.
McIlroy and his bride will now head off to what McIlroy described as “the middle of nowhere” for their honeymoon. McIlroy will tee it up again in mid-May at The Players Championship.

Was just talking about the Veej on the practice putting green last night with a buddy. He has always had a lot of hip turn without the torque and resistance that today’s young players create, Tiger was well, and we deem it the reason Veej hasn’t had the physical problems others guys have despite hitting a billion balls on the range. Story of the weekend however, was Chappell coming through on the final hole with a birdie to get his first win…..that’s clutch!
