Uh oh.
Oops.
You will find it soothing to know that two of the Ryder Cup’s biggest American non-winners are taking over the USA team room.
Yep, Alpha Dogs Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods are taking charge according to your weak-in-the-knees Captain Davis Love III.
Really, why should Love be in charge? He’s left everything else to the team, including the important Captain’s Picks, allegedly, at least if you believe what Love already told everyone.
So there you have Eldrick, which his sparkling Ryder Cup record of 13-14-2 and Philly Mick with his face-flopping 11-17-6 getting in there to show the rest of the lads how to win. Combined, that’s 24-31-8, which would get them fired if they were coaching a team sport at the pro or college level, for sure.
No doubt there’s great chemistry between Woods and Mickelson. They like each other about as much as Hillary likes Donald.
Yes, and someone needs to remind Eldrick that he’s not playing. At the team picture earlier this week, they had to eject him from the group picture, captain and players only, all you figure-head vice captains, get over there out of range of the camera lens.
Oh, and yes, there’s another Vice Captain who just came in this week.
Enter the reject, er, Bubba Watson. Bubba got the cold shoulder when it came time for the captain’s picks even though he’s had a better season than Rickie Fowler, J.B. Holmes and Matt Kuchar. He has two more major championships than those three combined and he’s the seventh-ranked player in the world.
How did he not get picked? Maybe this is confirmation that Bubba really is a jerk and isn’t very well liked after all.
After Watson begged and whined to be included, even if he’s not playing, Love threw him a bone and Bubba will get all those snappy uniforms.
They’ll probably give him his own cart and a radio but they’ll probably remotely turn off his radio so that he can hear what’s going on and if he speaks into it, no one else will hear him.
And you got to wonder if anyone besides his wife will want to ride in the Bubba cart with Watson.
Yeah, this should be a very interesting week at Hazeltine.
Stay tuned.

Watching Love right now on a press conference. I’m sorry to say, but wow, he is pathetic.
He sounds like an assistant, not the captain. He let Watson bully his way in as an assistant, weak move.
I believe Phil is going to stink, Fowler is going to stink, and the whole task force is going to crumble on top of Phil “is all about ne” Mickelson.

I would think those are pretty good observations, they’re not giving the Euros any credit, they are underdogs, of course.

Tom, maybe you can rationalize for me, why bring a loser to lead this team?
This is supposed to be a fresh and new thing, but they bring back a guy that don’t have leadership skills.

Eldrick and Phil, to put it in Eldrick’s terms: “You guys are a pair of beauties…”

Too funny! I guess Hal Sutton is not taking Phil’s comments lightly. Phil is a piece of work I tell you.

Guys like Phil and Tiger make you want to root for the Euros!
