Greg Norman simply will not go away.
He made that pretty clear to PGA Tour commish Jay Monahan (aka The Sheriff of Nottingham) in that weird letter a couple of weeks ago.
Well, it seems that Greg and his Sinister Band Of Saudi Golf Henchmen, have actually come up with a tournament schedule.
Only one catch — there’s a schedule but no players.
According to the PR Henchmen of the Crown Prince, said schedule will feature 54-hole, no-cut events with both an individual and a team component. The 48-man fields will be split into four 12-man teams. The schedule will include $250 million in purses with $20 million earmarked for each event’s individual component. An additional $5 million will be awarded amongst the top three teams at each event.
Greg and the Crown Prince want everyone to call this The LIV Golf Invitational Series. It’s supposed to start in June and end in October.
Here’s Greg’s Schedule:
June 9 – 11: Centurion Golf Club – London.
July 1 – 3: Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club – Portland. Oregon.
July 29 – 31: Trump National Golf Club Bedminster – New Jersey.
Sept 2 – 4: The International – Boston.
Sept 16 – 18: Rich Harvest Farms – Chicago.
Oct 7 – 9: Stonehill – Bangkok.
Oct 14 – 16: Royal Greens Golf Club – Jeddah.
Oct 28 – 30: Team Championship.
Congratulations are in order for Greg as he’s managed to secure some pretty mediocre courses for the U.S. events.
The Crown Prince’s PR Henchmen put it this way:
“The schedule will not compete with the majors, international team events or heritage events so players, who are independent contractors, will always be able to make their own choices about where to play.”
So perhaps, just maybe, Greg’s next move might be to, actually name some players who will participate in this series.
University Of Southwest Tragedy — Every Parents and Golf Coach’s Worst Nightmare:
Every golf parent’s worst nightmare played out on a dark Tuesday night in west Texas this week.
Players from the men’s and women’s golf teams from the University of the Southwest were in a van driven by their coach, Tyler James, when a pickup truck crossed the center line of a two-lane road and hit the van head-on.
Coach Tyler James, 26, of Hobbs, New Mexico was killed as were players Mauricio Sanchez, 19, of Mexico; Travis Garcia, 19, of Pleasanton, Texas; Jackson Zinn, 22, of Westminster, Colorado; Karisa Raines, 21, of Fort Stockton, Texas; Laci Stone, 18, of Nocona, Texas; and Tiago Sousa, 18, of Portugal.
The suspected driver of the pickup truck, Henrich Siemans, age 38, and his 13-year-old passenger were killed.
Critically injured aboard the van were Canadian students Dayton Price, 19, of Mississauga, Ontario, and Hayden Underhill, 20, of Amherstview, Ontario. Both were taken by helicopter to the University Medical Center in Lubbock, about 110 miles to the northeast.
In a disturbing turn of events on Thursday, the National Transportation Safety Board revealed that the deceased 13-year-old was the one actually driving the pickup truck that struck the school van.
The pickup truck’s left front tire, which was a spare tire, also blew out before impact, according to the NTSB report.
Although it was unclear how fast the two vehicles were traveling, “this was clearly a high-speed collision,” NTSB vice chairman Bruce Landsberg said.
Any Given Tuesday has created a page for the victims of the horrific tragedy involving the University Of The Southwest golf program. All funds will be given to the families of the victims. This is an opportunity for all who care and work in the college golf world to support a program in need! You can click on this link to donate to cause.
Shaun Norris Sets Course Record (62) In South Africa:
Shaun Norris blazed his way around the Steyn City Club on Friday with a tournament record-setting, 10-under par 62.
The South African is 18-under at the halfway point of the Steyn City Championship, three clear of fellow South African James Hart Du Preez. Norris opened with a 64 on Thursday.
Hart Du Preez took the early second round lead until Norris went out in the afternoon and lit it up. Norris finished birdie-eagle-birdie-par.
Another South African, Dean Burmester, was in solo third at 13-under par.

The cart is before the horse. As I’ve been saying they need to have a schedule and purse and all that set up if they are going to have players leave their livelihood, especially since they are being threatened with bans, including lifetime. There are definitely some players but for obvious reasons based on all the things that have been happening the players will be announced as late as possible.
But with this clear schedule and purses and locations —which are not that bad for starting out — this should help get more players.
