When it comes to contenders at the PNC Father-Son Challenge, it’s more about the fathers and less about the sons.
Vijay Singh is still the most competitive of the players in the field and when you combine his length off the tee with that of his son Qass, you have the makings of a tough scramble team.
Team Singh eagled the final hole Saturday at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando for a 13-under par 59 and will take a two-shot lead into the final round.
Three teams are tied behind them but do not have the firepower of the Singhs.
Steve and Sam Elkington, Davis and Dru Love along with Lanny Wadkins and son Travis are all 11-under at 61.
Of those teams, the Loves could be the team to press the Singhs as they are former winners of the event.
