A white Christmas might be great for the greeting cards but golf practice?
Obviously Rory McIlroy’s not spending the holiday season at his palatial home in sunny Jupiter, Florida. Instead, he may have opted to open the Christmas presents back in Northern Ireland.
Apparently McIlroy is pretty darn serious about a better season in 2018 after going winless in 2017.
When you have McIlroy’s means, practice is possible anywhere and McIlroy posted this picture of himself hitting balls into the snow.
McIlroy won’t be making his start in Hawaii however on Jan. 4. The Tournament Of Champions is reserved for winners only. McIlroy’s season will begin January 18 in Abu Dhabi at the HSBC Championship.
He’ll have a pretty good field to go against — Race To Dubai winner Tommy Fleetwood will be there, so will the world’s No. 1 Dustin Johnson. Add Paul Casey, Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose and Matt Kuchar and McIlroy will get an early indication as to how his game is measuring up.
In the meantime, who’s going to go out and pick up those balls that Rory’s hitting into the snow?
