Hudson Swafford was hot for three days at the Sony and he’s at it again at the CareerBuilder.
Swafford came up with a 65 Friday on the Nicklaus Tournament course in Palm Springs and he’s 14-under par at the halfway mark, a shot in front of the nearest competition.
But there wasn’t a lot of talk about rookie Dominic Bozelli a shot back at 13-under along with Danny Lee. The surprise of the 36-hole mark is none other than tournament ambassador Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson, who underwent a pair of sports hernia operations in the offseason, is just four shots back. He’s 10-under par after shooting 66 on the Nicklaus Tournament course Friday.
Defending champion Jason Dufner came to life on the Nicklaus Tournament course and his 66 got him to seven-under par going into the weekend.
