Chambers Bay was yielding some low rounds to the early starters on Sunday during the final round of the 115th U.S. Open.
European Tour players Thomas Aiken posted a four-under par 66 to tie for the day’s low round with American Morgan Hoffmann.
Billy Horschel, the winner of the 2014 FedEx Cup, shot 67 and finished at four-over, 284.
A pair of amateurs showed most of the pros in the field how it’s done. Nick Hardy and Brian Campbell both shot two-under par 68s. Hardy finished at 10-over while Champbell, a graduate of the University of Illinois, put up his own 68 and made his big to win low amateur honors. He finished at five-over but had to wait to see where Denny McCarthy and Ollie Schniederjans would finish.
