The greatest of the Danes will lead the European Ryder Cup team in 2018.
Thomas Bjorn, the Danish icon, was named on Tuesday as the next leader for Europe and he’ll have a tough task in front of him.
The European team was trounced this year and with many aging stars, Bjorn will have to discover some new blood to take on the Americans when the matches head to Paris in 2018.
Le Golf National will be the venue.
The Europeans have a selection committee, comprised largely of former Ryder Cup captains. Bjorn was selected by Darren Clarke, the most recent captain along with Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie, European Tour player rep Henrik Stenson and Keith Pelley, CEO of the European Tour.
