Just when we thought Tiger Woods was driving his kids to The Benjamin School or hanging out at his restaurant or doing whatever he’s supposed to do to help his back feel better, we have drama.
We have pre-Masters drama and that is par for the course with Woods, the undisputed King of Drama and Sultan of Secrets.
With The Masters a week away, a natural inclination would be to wonder out loud if there is some miracle in the making and that Woods might actually play in the 2016 Masters.
So why not shoot a short email to Tiger’s version of Dr. Evil — Mark Steinberg — or “Stiney” as Eldrick likes to call his manager/major domo.
That’s exactly what the good folks at the Golf Channel did, hey, just wondering.
To which Dr. Evil replied: “No further update for the moment.”
Thanks Stiney.
A simple, “he won’t play” would suffice which leaves the Door of Speculation cracked and adds drama, the drama that follows Woods as is always has.
Woods without drama is like a tour event without birdies. Woods without drama is like a Masters without pimento cheese sandwiches.
His name should be Eldrick D. Woods, the “D” short for “drama.”
That’s about what it’s come down to these days — drama, speculation, wondering out loud.
Will he or won’t he?
Is there a miracle in the air?
Stay tuned but don’t hold your breath.
