The PGA Of America doesn’t mind spilling the beans early.
Actually, it’s sort of traditional for the PGA to pair the most recent major champions in the first round of its big championship.
Prior to this new schedule that has moved the PGA to a fat-cat May slot, you had the current year major winners — The Masters champ, U.S. Open winner and the Champion Golfer Of The Year (British Open) — all playing in the first 36 holes.
Now, they’ll go with 2018 Open champ Molinari, ’18 PGA winner Koepka and your new 2019 Masters champion — Tiger Woods as a pairing for the first 36-holes at Bethpage Black.
The layout might be a tad long for Molinari but Koepka should find it to his liking. Tiger has the experience edge with two wins on the course.
Molinari played with Tiger on that fateful Sunday at The Masters and drowned his chances with his tee shot at the 12th.
Tiger will be coming in with 32 days since his last putt at Augusta National.
Koepka is skipping Charlotte after a pitiful performance with brother Chase at the team event.

Technically Molinari shouldn’t have contended at Augusta either. I’m not sure the mighty Italian can be ruled out of anywhere these days.

Frankie’s pretty versatile, comes from playing in Europe where conditions are more varied and the courses are not perfectly manicured….he adapts quite well
