It was evident from early Thursday that nothing good was going to happen for Tiger Woods at the 2015 U.S. Open.
What started as a struggle that resulted in an 80 in the first round, continued Friday.
Woods has no answers and it was fitting that he three-putted his final hole, the ninth for a 76 that left him at 16-over par for 36 holes, his worst two-round score ever in a major championship.
Where does Woods go from here? Well, he got on his plane and flew back to Jupiter.
He has a lot of wounds to lick after this. He tied for 150th. The only two players he managed to beat were Darren Clarke and 15-year-old amateur Cole Hammer.
Woods was beaten by virtually every other amateur in the field.
It was flat-out ugly.
And so the saga continues. Two majors down, two to go. The Open Championship will be contested at St. Andrews, a course Woods loves. The PGA moves to Whistling Straits, a venue similar to Chambers Bay.
Woods can go home taking comfort that he is still, in fact, better than a 15-year-old.
