Tiger Woods didn’t want to talk to anyone after his Saturday round at the WGC-Mexico.
And for the first time in his career, after a good round on Sunday, he once again refused to grant any interviews.
Woods skipped just one post-round media session last year but had those two straight in Mexico. Tiger’s post-tournament recap refusal is something that hasn’t occurred in years.
Woods is certainly entitled at this point to take a pass given how consistently he’s stopped for post round coverage when he undoubtedly was ashamed of his play.
Here’s where things get a little messy. Tiger has formed a partnership with GolfTV, which describes itself as Netflix for golf. After his round on Sunday, although he gave the bum’s rush to everyone else, Tiger gave an exclusive to his new money partner. Imagine that. Makes you wonder if The Great Stiney aka Tiger Woods agent Marc Steinberg, got a little note from GolfTV that said something like: Hey, how about a little something for the millions we’re paying Eldrick!”
So Tiger was all smiles and delivered these comments:
“I’m officially done. I don’t know what to say. I can’t really explain how bad I putted. I’m officially excited to be off Poa,” said Tiger, referring to the grass he’s putted on the past two weeks at Riviera and Chapultepec.
He also talked about the altitude.
“I haven’t played at altitude since Castle Pines in 1999.”
He’s skipping the Honda this week and will spend his time resting and working out. “I’ll try and put some weight on that I lost the last couple of weeks,” Tiger added.
In the meantime, he’s climbed out of the lucky 13th spot in the Official World Golf Rankings and now resides at No. 12. With Bay Hill and The Players next on his schedule, can a return to the Top 10 be in the making?
Stay tuned.

It — is healthy!

Apparently, Tiger isn’t all that healthy and this latest neck deal reminds us that he’s totally on the downside of his career.
