Just 11 short days from today, the first round of the 2019 PGA Championship will be underway.
Tiger Woods will be one of the pre-tournament favorites at Bethpage Black and Tiger has made sure he’ll have familiar, five-star accommodations for the week.
The Privacy — Tiger’s 155-foot floating palace is already in place, just 13 short miles from Bethpage. The luxury yacht is moored at the Oyster Bay Marine Center and it’s taking up a large dock space.
The boat has a crew of nine, can sleep up to 21 people and if you’re interested in owning something like it — it will cost you about $2 million a year to maintain it, depending on how often you use it.
Tiger’s yacht is 43-feet longer than Jack Nicklaus’ 112-footer — The Sea Bear.
But alas, The Privacy is dwarfed by the 416-foot “Octopus” that was owned by the late Paul Allen.
Still, Tiger’s got that comfort he wants and last time it was parked for a major championship, Woods quipped:
“Yeah, I’m stayin’ on the dinghy.”
