One lousy half point.
One lousy seven-foot putt.
That’s all the U.S. Solheim Cup needed to avoid that embarrassing loss to Europe on Sunday.
Talent and resumes were heavily on the American side heading to Scotland. The weather and will of the European team overcame that.
Also add that stupid trash talking by Danielle Kang and Europe had even more motivation.
We’re giving the Korda sisters — Jessica and Nellie — a pass on this one, they can head home and know they did their best — but the rest of the team has earned a place in The Dog House.
We’ll set up a putting green behind The Dog House and Lexi Thompson can practice some more with that stupid pencil grip she uses. Bleah!
Surely Julie Inkster will look back at all the shoulda, coulda, wouldas on this one.
But this turned out to be a big upset.
Big one.

Upset or not, it was easy to see this coming.
