Amy Yang and Stacy Lewis duked it out head-to-head Saturday at the U.S. Open and at the end of the day, it was Yang who ended up where she started — three shots clear of Lewis.
Both shot one-under par rounds of 69 and that got Yang to eight-under, Lewis to five-under after three trips around the difficult Lancaster Country Club layout.
Lewis had pulled within two shots but a three-putt bogey at the 17th dropped her back to five-under and she had to hole a difficult five-footer for par at the 18th to play with Yang once again on Sunday.
InGee Chun shot 68 to get to four-under and is alone in fourth. Japan’s Shiho Oyama shot 71 to finish three-under.
Defending champion Michelle Wie continued to battle through a painful hip to shoot 68 and is one of four players at two-under par.
