Using a line on the golf ball for putting has been around a long time, when Tiger Woods used it, it became a trend.
Here’s something that takes that to the next step — how about using the line or lines on your golf ball to help with your driving accuracy?
Bryson DeChambeau uses it to his advantage and if it’s good enough for Bryson, well, it’s certainly something all amateur should consider, especially if your drives have been off the mark.
Many manufacturers are putting lines on the ball at the factory and Callaway has the most prominent system with three lines on its Tour Soft golf ball.
When you’re pegging your ball on the tee box, point your alignment line in the direction you want the ball to start. If you’re trying to hit a draw, aim it right, if you’re looking to fade your tee shot, set it to the left. How much in either direction depends on you.
If you have trouble shaping shots, then aim the lines at the center of the fairway and do your best.
One thing it will do is help you line up your driver face perfectly square to the lines.
Do the same on par three holes with your irons. Once the face is square to the line, it will help you with your setup as well.
Give it a go and see if you can find more fairways.
